Berkeley notifies Spain of dispute, threatens to initiate arbitration, over Salamanca uranium mine

Australian mining company Berkeley Energia Limited (Berkeley) has, through its subsidiaries – Berkeley Minera España, S.L.U. (BME) and Berkeley Exploration Limited (BEL) – submitted written notification of an investment dispute to the Prime Minister of Spain and Spain’s Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO) following the Ministry’s decision to reject the company’s request for an authorisation to construct a uranium concentrate plant as a radioactive facility (NSC II) in Salamanca, Spain.
