German Court rejects enforcement of foreign arbitration award against Eckes-Granini Group

On 31 March 2022, according to a press release by the Koblenz Higher Regional Court, the Second Civil Chamber of that Court rejected the enforcement in Germany of an award rendered on 21 May 2019 by an ad hoc arbitral Tribunal in Moscow, under which several companies of the Eckes-Granini Group were ordered to pay German businessman Axel Hartmann more than €49 million in damages.
