Huawei commences arbitration proceedings against Sweden before the ICSID

On January 21, 2022, the Secretary-General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) registered a request for arbitration by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. v the Kingdom of Sweden (ICSID Case No. ARB/22/2) under the Agreement on Mutual Protection of Investments Between the Government of the Kingdom of Sweden and the Government of the People’s Republic of China signed in Beijing on 29 March 1982, and its Protocol, signed in Stockholm on 27 September 2004.
