Swedish Court refuses to set aside attachment of Kazakhstan’s property in execution of €500 million arbitration award

16 January 2023, STOCKHOLM. The Svea Court of Appeal has rejected the Republic of Kazakhstan and its National Bank’s appeal against the Swedish Enforcement Authority’s decision to attach securities – mostly shares in some thirty listed Swedish companies and cash held account at a Swedish bank – considered to belong to Kazakhstan.
